Homemade Koay Teow Recipe

Ingredients

150 grams of rice flour
1 1/2 tbsp 澄面粉 Wheat starch
2 tbsp corn flour
400ml cold water
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1/2 tsp salt

Method

  1. Mix  rice flour, Wheat starch and corn flour together.

  2.  Add ice water and stir until combined.

  3. Add cooking oil and salt and stir.

  4. Leave it aside for 1 hour.

  5. In the meantime, prepare steamer, and three steam tray.

  6. Cast a thin layer of cooking oil on the steam tray.

  7. After 1 hour, spread across the pan with thin layer of flour mixture.

  8. Heat up the steamer.

  9. When the water start to boil, add the stream stray and heat for 4-5 minutres.

  10. Remove the steam tray and replace another steam tray till you are done with all three.

  11. Let it cool

  12. Roll up after stripping koay teow. 

  13. Cut it into strips.
