There is no easy answer to these problems. It may be some small consolation to know that they are very common, and many others share the frightening and exhausting emotions you are experiencing now. There are support groups for people in your position. It helps to understand the cause of your emotions, as well as to air your feelings, so you might like to ask your doctor for a referral to a counselor experienced in dealing with the trauma caused by chronic illness. Some diabetes clinics (attached to most major hospitals) offer counseling services. Social workers and marriage guidance (counselors may also be able to assist with family tensions and pressure caused by living with diabetes.
