Lime Fruit Salad Recipe

Ingredients

1 8 3/4-ounce can fruit cocktail

3/4 cup water

1 3-ounce package line-flavored gelatin

1 3-ounce package cream cheese, cubed and softened

1/2 cup whipping cream

1/4 cup chopped walnuts

 

Method

Drain fruit cocktail, reserving syrup. In a saucepan combine reserved fruit syrup, water, and the lime gelatin. Heat, stirring frequently, till gelatin is dissolved. Gradually add hot gelatin mixture to cream cheese; beat with a rotary beater till smooth. Chill till partially set (the consistency of unbeaten egg whites). Beat whipping cream till soft peaks form. Ford drained fruit cocktail, walnuts, and whipped cream into gelatin mixture. Pour into a 3 1/2-cup mold. Chill till firm. Makes 6 servings.
