Chocolate Pots de Creme Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup light cream

1 4-ounce package German sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

1 tablespoon sugar

Dash salt

3 beaten egg yolks

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Whipped cream (optional)

 

Method:

In a heavy small saucepan combine light cream, chopped chocolate, sugar, and salt. Coo and stir over medium-low heat till smooth and slightly thickened. Gradually stir about half of the hot mixture into beaten egg yolk; return all to saucepan. Cool and stir over medium-low heat 2 to 3 minutes more. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. pour into 4 to 6 pots de creme cups or individual small sherbet dishes. Cover and shill several hour or overnight till firm. Garnish with shipped cream, if desired. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
