Basic Hard Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened

2 cups sifted powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla

 

Method

In a small mixer bowl cream together softened butter or margarine and powdered sugar with electric mixer. Beat in vanilla. Spread in a 7 1/2x3 1/2x2-inch loaf pan. Chill to harden. Cut into squares to serve. Serve with plum pudding or warm ginger bread. Makes 1 1/3 cups (21 servings).
