"Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like prince, dinner like a pauper." It's not an old saying that reflects the nutritional wisdom of consuming most of our calories in the morning and afternoon. That's when our bodies need the most energy --- during the day. It's when most of us are most active.
A good breakfast is particularly important. After all, we are breaking the fast --- we may not have eaten in ten or twelve hours. The best breakfast is rich in complex carbohydrates to help fuel our bodies, with some protein, vitamins such as A and C, and calcium.
