Whole Wheat Walnut Bread Recipe |

Ingredients: 1 package active yeast 2 cups warm water 9110o), divided 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons honey 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 to 5 cups whole wheat flour, divided 3/4 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts vegetable cooking spray
Method Sprinkle yeast over 1/2 cup warm water in a small bowl; let stand 5 minutes.
Blend oil, honey, salt, remaining 1 1/2 cups water, and yeast mixture in a large mixing bowl. Add 3 cups flour; with an electric mixer, beat 1 minute at low speed to blend. Stir in walnuts and enough remaining flour until dough becomes too difficult to stir. Knead on a floured surface about 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and slightly elastic, working in enough flour to prevent sticking. Place in a large bowl coated with cooking spray; coat dough evenly with cooking spray.
Cover with cloth or plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place 1 1/2 hours, or until almost doubled in bulk. Knead briefly to expel air bubble; place in a 9-inch springform pan coated with cooking spray. Cover loosely and let rise 45 to 55 minutes or until almost doubled. Preheat oven to 375o.
Remove cover. Bake in lower third of oven at 375o for 35 to 40 minutes or until crust is browned and a wooden skewer inserted in enter comes out clean. remove from pan and cool completely on a wire rack.
