Nut Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

4 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 beaten egg

1 2/3 cups milk

1/4 cup cooking oil

3/4 cup chopped nuts

Oven 350o

 

Method

Stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Combine egg, milk and oil; add to dry ingredients. stirring just till combined. Stir in nuts. Turn into a greased 9x5x3-inch load pan. Bake in a 350o oven about 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Cool in a pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool on a rack. Wrap and store overnight before slicing. Makes 1.

 

Cheese-Nut Bread: Prepare Nut Bread as above, except add 1 cup shredded cheese (4 ounces) to batter with nuts.
