Benefits of Herbs
Uncategorized September 6th, 2009Cooking with herbs is a healthful way to put spice, sweet, tang and tart into your foods when you are anxious to avoid artificial flavoring substances to promote your good health. Herbs have such health benefits as: blood circulation, detoxifying poisonous wastes in the kidneys and liver, washing out accumulated acid crystal wastes, and acting as “sponges” by soaking up putrefactive substances and excreting them through normal eliminative channels. Specific herbs have often been used to treat ailments such as allergies, rheumatic disorders, diabetic problems, nervous difficulties, glandular malfunctioning, excessive bleeding, mucus accumulation, and congestion. Many modern medicines such as digitalis, comfrey, various astringents, lobelia, menthols, thyme, mullein, plantain, and various pine concoctions are all taken from herbs. The ancients were far ahead of us when it came to healing when we see that they used herbs in cookery and in poultries and teas for powers of healing.
