Coney Islands Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green pepper

1 8-ounce can tomato sauce

1/2 cup water

1/2 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp ground red pepper (optional)

6 frankfurters

6 warm frankfurter buns

 

Method

In a skillet cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper till meat is browned. Drain. Add tomato sauce, water, chili powder, paprika, salt, and ground red pepper. Simmer 15 minutes. In a saucepan cover frankfurters with cold water; bring to boiling. Simmer 5 minutes. to serve, place franks in buns and top each with meat mixture. Makes 6 servings.
